Slice Count: 7 (2 large Kianti's spicy chicken pizza + 1 slice s'mores dessert cookie pizza + 2 leftover personal pizza slices of vegetarian Paesano's pizza + 2 large homemade Mexican pizza slices)
Weight: did not weigh Exercise: 80 minutes of a soccer game Cost: $26.93 How I feel generally: Stressed out! How my tummy feels: Normal Extras: One coffee, some samples of teriyaki and mushroom chicken from the consumer testing, two bananas We had consumer testing today and I had to do some work beforehand too, and then I had a soccer game, so I didn't have time to post immediately. I made Mexican pizza in the evening, with enchilada sauce, ground turkey, black beans, cabbage, and a three-cheese Mexican cheese blend, topped with guacamole and salsa. In the picture with the two pizzas, you can see the huge difference in pizza crust. I bought it in dough form a couple days ago, and on the left is Nugget dough and on the right is Trader Joe's whole wheat dough. There was one side of the TJ's crust that would not form to be a circle, no matter what I did. It still tasted good though! Also, I don't think I included the cost for the grocery trips for the pizza ingredients, so I added it today, since I made the pizzas today.

Slice Count: 5 (3 large Kianti's spicy chicken pizza + 1 slice s'mores dessert cookie pizza + 1 leftover personal pizza slices of vegetarian Paesano's pizza)
Weight: did not weigh Exercise: Walking around Santa Cruz Cost: $13 How I feel generally: Happy :-D How my tummy feels: Constipated and not happy about it Extras: One coffee, one apple, one raspberry jam doughnut, one blueberry cake doughnut (I was a real fatso today) My dad and I visited Santa Cruz. The weather was gorgeous in Santa Cruz today! Usually when I go, it's cold and cloudy. I included a couple of photos from the coast and a couple of photos from the pizza. We hit up a lot of different sites there, mostly outdoorsy, because he had never been. I packed pizza along in my cooler, but we ended up finding this cute place downtown called Kianti's. We got a large spicy chicken pizza, which consisted of a pesto sauce, mozzarella, chicken, bacon, mushroom, jalapeño, and olives. I didn't really like their pesto sauce, but other than that, it was good. I'm living and breathing and eating pizza. I smell it all the time, even when it's not there. I think it's permanently stuck in my nose. When I hear the word "pizza," my ears perk up like a dog. Am I going crazy? :-O Slice Count: 8 (2 medium Domino's slices + 5 medium pizza slices from Paesano's +1 slice s'mores dessert cookie pizza)
Weight: did not weigh Exercise: 1 hour of cycling and running intervals with push-ups in between Cost: $24.98 How I feel generally: Good How my tummy feels: full and a little indigestion Extras: One coffee, one banana, some strawberries, one Clif nut butter bar Dad's in town! Woohoo! I spent the morning cleaning and working after an interview and pizza for breakfast. My dad and I went to lunch at Paesano's, a yummy Italian restaurant in town. I got the brussels sprouts and pancetta pizza, my first white pizza of the month, with olive oil, garlic, fresh mozzarella, and lemon gremolata (herbs and such). It was SO GOOD. One of the best this month. I would never have thought to put brussels sprouts on a pizza, but they were cooked really well (browned a little) and it added so much flavor. This evening after practice, we ate some leftovers and I made another dessert pizza, a s'mores cookie pizza. It had a plain (sugar) cookie crust, which I baked first. Then I let it cool and spread Nutella on it, and topped it with Golden Grahams and mini marshmallows, and baked it a few more minutes to brown the marshmallows. At the end, I drizzled it with chocolate sauce and sweetened condensed milk. I liked this one much better than the other dessert pizza. There was more of a variety of flavor in it; it wasn't just sweet. Slice Count: 10 (1 very large leftover Village bakery veggie slice + 4 medium Domino's slices + 6 personal pizza slices Blaze pizza) Weight: 133 lbs (maybe the scale I'm using is broken :-P) Exercise: 3 mile run + 30 minutes weight training + 70 minutes full-field soccer Cost: $8.95 How I feel generally: Great! I exercised way too much today because I completely forgot I had that soccer game in the evening... but I feel pretty good because I didn't do much yesterday. How my tummy feels: fine Extras: One coffee, one Panera cookie Oh my lanta, I had 10 slices today! Is that a new record? I think so. I ended up working at Panera in the afternoon, and since I was downtown I got Blaze pizza again. I did not plan well, because I still have so much pizza left over in my fridge. That's my third time at Blaze for this pizza month. Today's pizza had red sauce, fresh basil, mozzarella, feta, ham, banana pepper, cherry tomato, sauteed onions, and zucchini. I really liked the basil. Slice Count: 8 (1 very large leftover Village bakery veggie slice + 2 medium Domino's slices + 4 small slices of Village Bakery meat & veggie pizza, aka 2/3 of the pizza + 1 slice dessert pizza)
Weight: 135 lbs (different scale at the doctor) Blood Pressure: 121/58 (idk why the diastolic was lower than usual) Exercise: 20 minutes of swimming + lifting a very large rice cabinet and massive boxes of raw chicken for work (that counts as exercise, yeah?) Cost: $6.10 How I feel generally: Good but a little lightheaded/weird from the vaccines. That always happens to me. Still looking forward to pizza meals though, so that's good. My teammate pointed out to me that I kept saying I was tired in this section and I realize it's because I was always writing it just before going to bed, so of course I was tired. I'll try to give a better overview of how I felt the whole day. How my tummy feels: pretty good (maybe a little backed up from all the cheese - I take back what I said about regularity yesterday, although my friend with GI tract issues taught me that regularity is not referring to the frequency of bowel movements, but rather the consistency of bowel movements. There is your disgusting fact of the day) Extras: One coffee, one boba tea (oolong milk tea with pearls - yum), a sliver of my roommate's cake. Ahhh. April 25th. "Miss Rhode Island, describe your idea of a perfect date." "That's a tough one. I'd have to say April 25th. Because it's not too hot, not too cold. All you need is a light jacket!" - Miss Congeniality This morning I went to the doctor to get my vaccinations and medicine for the Nicaragua trip. They weighed me and took my blood pressure, so I recorded that above. My dear friend and labmate brought her famous lemon cookie in gigantic cookie form to make a fruit pizza this morning! It was a lemon cookie crust with a glaze, topped with kiwi. Gorgeous and delicious. I also ate leftover Village Bakery veggie pizza and the Domino's I ordered last night. In the evening, after triathlon practice, I went to Village Bakery pizza (the other location in Davis) with some of my soccer teammates. Slice Count: 6 (1 small Woodstocks slice + 1 very large Village bakery veggie slice + 4 medium Domino's slices)
Weight: 133 lbs (homeostasis is a magical thing) Exercise: 1.5 hours in the gym - resistance training and calisthenics, a little stair stepper Cost: $22.15 How I feel generally: A little sore from yesterday How my tummy feels: normal (I think the pizza diet really helps with my regularity) Extras: Two coffees My love for pizza has been revived! I got my appetite back after this weekend. I ordered a lot of pizza today so I have quite a bit left over. Also, I got a new PR for real chin-ups! I got nine. Yay! By real, I mean I extend my arms all the way at the bottom. Chin-ups are the ones where your palms are facing towards you. Pull-ups are when your palms face away from you, and I can only do 3-5 of those usually. I did some of those too today. I forgot to say that yesterday I got hit in the face in soccer yesterday (right in the nose). I was worried I wouldn't be able to taste my pizza, because olfaction is the majority of flavor (taste on your tongue is a much smaller component of flavor). I think my nose is fine though. You don't want to damage your olfactory receptors if you're a sensory scientist like me. I kind of need them! |
